For almost 19 years on Lopez Island I was “the signpainter,” among other things (obsessed plant geek and respectful trespasser), with more than 300 completed signs at the time I moved away. Sadly, many of the businesses didn’t last long, but I’m pretty happy with how the older signs are holding up. Now that I’m in La Conner and opening a shop in 2 months, I’m going to paint signs for myself! Sadly, though, kuntri girl’s still gotta pay the bills, so I’m looking for a few small jobs in the Skagit Valley.
I have been through a few lame laptops in these many years and the 3rd one just broke down, taking many photos along with it. Luckily, all those years I was keeping a Sign portfolio going on blogspot, so much is preserved, along with some Island stories. Check it out:
